How can I give them a NEGATIVE star? I paid $63.00 to have a small box of Christmas presents sent to my son. I made a point to get this box sent off in time to be delivered before x-mas and pd additional to make sure that it was not only there on time, but a day or two early. The box was "guaranteed" to be delivered on Thu 12/22/16. It did not arrive. It did not arrive on Fri 12/23/16. I called UPS on Sat, they told me to call the Portland, OR UPS directly. I spoke with a person at the Portland UPS who said they were not sure where the package was at the moment though it had arrived in Portland so should have been delivered on time so she was surprised there was no further tracking info. I asked if my son could go to their UPS site and pick it up himself as he lived only a few miles away. The lady said that she was not sure where the package was, but that she knew it would not be delivered on that day because UPS does not deliver on the weekends and they were not open for my son to go pick up the package. She was very kind and said weather had nothing to do with the package being held up. She could only speculate that the truck that had gone out for delivery a couple of days prior possibly broke down or something. She told me to file a claim with UPS because I would get at least get a refund for the shipping costs. I could see on the website and the tracking info that the package was indeed in Portland and had been for some time as well. So my son and his family went without on x-mas day. The package did not arrive on Mon, 12/26/17, either. It was finally delivered on Tue, 12/27/16. I called the general UPS Customer Service phone # to file a claim for a refund and they told me that I would definitely get a refund and that I had to file the claim directly with the UPS Store that I sent the package from. They had no answers as to why my package was days late, but said there was no question I would be getting a refund. I had sent it from the UPS Store on Power Road and Baseline Road in Mesa, Arizona (1959 S Power Road #3, Mesa, AZ 85206). I called the Mesa UPS Store on Friday, 1/6/17 and explained what happened and filed a claim to get a refund. They told me I was entitled to a full refund and that I would need to stop in to get my refund once it was processed. I did not hear back from them so decided to stop in on January 17th to see how much longer my refund would take. I talked with Vanessa and she told me my claim was processed and had been denied. When I questioned why it would be denied Vanessa was VERY short with me and told me she really had no idea and she had other customers to help. I was definitely taken aback. I asked what I could do to get this resolved because I certainly should be getting a refund as I paid for "Guaranteed" service. Vanessa was very short with me and said she would appeal the decision for me. A couple of days later Vanessa called me back and said she had appealed the decision twice and that I am denied any refund because I filed the claim too late. She said no request was made by me on 1/6/17. I was shocked and totally disheartened. I am a paying customer who followed all of the rules and I paid dearly to have that package sent to my son and his family. I called UPS and they could see everything in the system, including all of the notes from my call to the Portland UPS on Saturday, 12/24/16. She was shocked that the Mesa UPS Store would try to tell me I could not get a refund. She said, sadly, that they own their own business so if they decide to follow unfair practices I would have to file a complaint against the Mesa store. She said UPS Store in Mesa WAS WRONG and she put me on hold and called them directly and spoke with Gary who said Vanessa is a Manager and that either Vanessa or Steve (the other manager)would call me and get this refund processed. They still refuse to refund me! I will file with the Better Business Bureau next...and NEVER use the UPS Store off of Power and Baseline in Mesa, AZ again.

  • Wonderful store. No issues from me. Unlike these other reviewers who expect a red carpet event to be help for their very presence, I understand it's a shipping business. It's simple; print your own label, seal up your own box and drop it off. Make sure you get a receipt and even a tracking # if at all possible. How hard is that?
